[Johannesburg, 22 November 2005] – Service Parts Logistics (SPL), the largest parts solutions provider in MEA and HP’s only authorised parts reseller in the Sub-Saharan region, today announced it has expanded its range of local stock parts from DeskJet, laser printer and PC parts to now include Net server parts.
“We believe this is a clear sign to our partners that we are committed to delivering the highest service levels of parts availability across the entire range of HP products,” commented Steve Cox, CEO of Microtek, the holding company of SPL.
“We are working closely with service providers to customise stock holdings in line with the local installed base and projected sales. We believe this sort of detailed and focused attention to parts distribution will continue to see HP’s after-sales service levels outperform the OEM’s whose parts channels are less focused.
“Our National Logistics Control centre in Randpark Ridge provides us with the ability to plan and distribute stock into our regional offices situated in KZN and Cape Town, and thus provide a high level first pass fill rate into our strategic customers greatly reducing their repair times,” continued Cox.
“One of the major benefits that has arisen from our regional presence has been our ability to provide HP with the comfort that their customers are being supplied nationally at service levels which they are accustomed to,” he concluded.
