Option to extend or Rent To Own
After your rental contract has expired and you still want to utilise the equipment you have – you are more than welcome to extend your current rental or utilise our rent-to-own model. Pay off the equipment on a monthly basis and then the unit is yours to keep!

Buyback of old equipment
We would gladly make you an offer for any of your old equipment not currently being utilised. This is not limited to equipment type or brand. This could be done as a cash offer or could be utilised to subsidise a rental offering.

How can I rent something?

Is any information needed to request something?

Please send us your company name and mailing address, contact person, telephone number, email address and, if available, your VAT ID.

What documentation is required to rent?

When the initial order is placed – a master terms and conditions will need to be signed and sent back to SPL. Secondly, an approved credit application will be required prior to going ahead on any rentals. This process generally takes between 3-5 business days

When will a deposit be due?

A deposit is not usually required but the monthly instalments are due on an upfront basis. Please contact us to discuss any details you require.

Are the devices insured?

You can request insurance for your equipment. Alternatively, you can add the rental units onto your own insurance policy for the rental term

How are the devices delivered?

We use our accredited carrier to ship and/or deliver the equipment nationwide. There is also an option for renters to pick up the equipment in person during working days from 8am to 5pm from our Johannesburg Head Office.

Can I install my own software?

Yes, if you hire a device from us, you can install your own software.

How is the device returned?

The units can be returned from 8am to 5pm on working days to our Johannesburg Head Office. Alternatively, SPL will arrange the return by a courier service.

What are the minimum and maximum rental periods from SPL

SPL offers a range of rental options – ranging from daily rental hires up to 36-month leases (with the option of extending contracts as required)

Can you upgrade any units to specs?

Yes! Send in your spec requirements and we will get our in-house team to upgrade the unit for you. Depending on the quantity required and upgrades needed, this process takes between 3-5 business days

What happens to the IT assets at the end of the rental period?

That depends on you! You can choose to return the assets to us, renew your lease, or purchase the rental outright.

How can I buy a product I’m renting?

At SPL, we believe renting your tech is the best way to stay up to date while avoiding large purchases, but we also know that sometimes, buying a device is the better alternative. That’s why we offer the option to buy your IT Hardware Units at any point or work towards a purchase simply by paying off your monthly subscription payments. So, relax if you decide to keep a product—you won’t end up paying rent forever.

What happens to my data after the end of the rental period?

All equipment returning from the rental will go through our return procedure. They are cleaned and checked. Your data will be securely deleted during the return process.

What happens if the device gets stolen or broken?

Please inform us immediately should there be a lost or stolen product, so we can deal with the incident promptly. Please contact us to discuss the insurance terms in conditions in more detail.
