About this display back cover
The display back cover is the outer shell of a laptop's lid, behind the screen. It protects the panel, carries the hinge mounts, and on many models holds the wireless antennas and the camera cable along its inner edge. It is replaced when the lid is cracked or dented, when a hinge mount has broken away and the lid no longer holds its angle, or when the finish is badly damaged. A broken hinge mount left unrepaired often goes on to crack the panel behind it.
