About this printer roller
Rollers move paper through a printer. Pick-up rollers lift a single sheet from the tray, separation rollers or pads stop two sheets feeding together, and feed rollers carry the page along its path. The rubber hardens and polishes with use, and loses its grip. Worn rollers cause sheets that fail to feed, several sheets feeding at once, skewed or creased pages, and jams early in the paper path. Rollers for different trays in the same printer are often different parts.
