About this fuser
The fuser is the unit in a laser printer that bonds toner to the paper. Paper passes between a heated roller or film and a pressure roller, and the heat and pressure melt the toner into the page. A worn fuser shows itself as toner that smears or rubs off, faint marks repeating down the page, creased or wrinkled paper, jams at the exit, or a fuser error on the printer's panel. Fusers wear out with the pages they print, and many printers report when theirs is due.
