About this inverter board
An inverter board supplies power to the fluorescent backlight lamp found in older laptop and monitor screens, changing the low voltage from the machine into the high voltage the lamp needs to light. Displays that use LED backlights have no inverter, so this part only suits lamp-backlit screens. When an inverter starts to fail, the screen may go dark while a faint picture remains visible under strong light, the backlight may flicker or take time to come on, or the display may switch itself off shortly after starting.
