About this interconnect module
An interconnect module fits into the rear of a blade enclosure and carries traffic between the blade servers and the external network or storage. It may work as a switch, as a pass-through giving each blade its own port, or as a virtualised connection module, for Ethernet or Fibre Channel. Each bay maps to specific adapter ports on the blades. Fault signs include links staying down for every blade in a bay, the enclosure manager flagging the module as failed, or the module never completing startup.
