About this laser scanner unit
A laser scanner unit draws the image for each page onto the drum inside a laser printer, directing a laser beam across the surface with a rapidly rotating mirror; some machines use a row of light-emitting diodes for the same task. The assembly is sealed, so any dust or toner that reaches the inside shows on every page printed. Typical signs of failure include blank output, pale or missing stripes running along the page, distorted wavy lines, a whining or grinding sound from the mirror motor, or a scanner error message on the printer.
Is this the right part?
Find the part number on the label fixed to the unit. Check it against your printer model, and on a colour machine confirm whether the unit covers every colour or only some. Keep the glass window clean and do not touch it. The manufacturer's part number for this listing is 71P5769.
Not sure? Send us the number from the label, or your machine's serial number, and we will confirm the match before you order.
