About this tape cartridge
A tape cartridge holds backup data for a tape drive and can be stored away from the server to protect it. Tapes come in several formats, and each format has generations; a drive can only read and write the generations it supports. Cleaning cartridges are a separate type that clean the drive head and wear out after a fixed number of passes. A worn or damaged tape typically causes read or write errors that follow the same cartridge between drives, or the cartridge may refuse to load at all.
Is this the right part?
The format and generation appear on the cartridge and its label area. Check these against what your drive can read and write, and make sure you have a data cartridge rather than a cleaning cartridge, or the other way round. The manufacturer's part number for this listing is 05H4434.
Not sure? Send us the number from the label, or your machine's serial number, and we will confirm the match before you order.
