About this battery pack
A battery pack supplies power to a laptop or other portable device while it is disconnected from the mains. Inside it are rechargeable cells, most often lithium-ion or lithium-polymer in recent devices, together with a small circuit that tells the device how much charge remains and how healthy the pack is. All packs lose capacity as they age and go through charging cycles. A worn pack may run the device for only a short time, cause shutdowns while charge still shows, trigger a battery warning from the operating system, refuse to charge, or swell. A swollen pack should be taken out promptly and never charged again.

Find the part number on the battery label, normally on the side facing the underside of the device, where several numbers may appear. Before fitting, compare the shape, the connector and the voltage printed on the label with your old battery.

How do I find the right battery for my laptop?
Read the label on the battery you are replacing, which may mean opening the base if it is built in. Match the battery's own part number, or the laptop's exact model, and check the voltage and the number of cells. Batteries that look alike can have different connectors or cable lengths, so the part number matters more than the shape.
Does a higher Wh or mAh rating mean a longer runtime?
Yes. Watt-hours and milliamp-hours measure how much energy the battery holds, so at the same voltage a higher rating runs the laptop for longer. The voltage must match the battery you are replacing, and a higher-capacity pack can be larger, so check that it fits the bay.
What warranty does SPL give on this part?
