About this duplex unit
A duplex unit is the part of a printer that turns each sheet over and feeds it back through so that printing can appear on both sides of the page. On some printers it is built into the machine, while on others it is a separate unit that clips on at the rear or fits underneath. When it starts to fail, paper may jam during double-sided printing, pages may come out printed on one side only, or the printer may report a duplex error, even though single-sided printing still works normally.
