Questions buyers ask about memory modules

How do I know which memory my computer takes?

Match the generation (DDR3, DDR4 or DDR5), the form (SODIMM for laptops, DIMM for desktops and servers) and, for a server, whether it takes registered or unbuffered modules. The label on a module already in the machine shows all three, and its part number is the surest match.

Can I mix memory modules of different sizes or speeds?

Usually yes, within the same generation and type, but every module then runs at the speed of the slowest one, and some machines need matched pairs to run in dual-channel mode. Servers are stricter: never mix registered and unbuffered modules, and follow the server's memory population guide.

What warranty does SPL give on this part?

Every part SPL sells carries a one-year SPL warranty from the invoice date, unless the product page or your quote says otherwise. The full wording is clause 17 of our Terms and Conditions. Warranty terms

How do I return a part that is faulty or not what I ordered?

Where do you deliver from, and how long does delivery take?

We ship from our Johannesburg and Cape Town branches to addresses across South Africa. Once you order, My account shows an estimated dispatch date for it, and courier delivery usually follows within one to two business days of dispatch.
